Rookie Hunter Rider Program
Rider must be a Show Jumping USA member
A rider may declare Rookie status at any level they wish to. A rider will remain that level competitor until placings at that level, or above, in Classic competitions graduate them up the Rookie ladder. Rookies compete for qualifying points in side by side divisions but not down the levels.

Rookie Hunter-Jumper Rider Program Shows
HUNTER Three levels divided by height of fence –
Rookie Hunter Rider - Titanium Level 5 - Int'l Derby classes
Rookie Hunter Rider - Platinum Level 4 - Derby’s 3’3” – 3’6"+
Rookie Hunter Rider - Open Level 3 - any Classic 3'+
JUMPER Three levels divided by height of fence
Rookie Jumper Rider - Titanium Level 5 - 1.50m +
Rookie Jumper Rider - Platinum Level 4 - Grand Prix/Classics/ 1.40m – 1.45m,
Rookie Jumper Rider - Open Level 3 - any Classic 1.35m - 1.40 m
FINAL Show Jumping USA CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION
A Rookie Championship will serve as the National Rookie Championship for Rookie riders in the fall of each year. This Championship allows talented Rookie riders to be showcased on a National level at a Premier horse show. Championships will be offered at 3 levels in both Hunter and Jumper divisions.
Prize money and awards 1st through 8th.
• Rookie must be a member in good standings of Show Jumping USA, the horse must be recorded, at no charge, with Show Jumping USA.
• Horse/Rider combinations must have entered, and completed the course, in three approved-designated classes throughout the year in order to enter the Championship. (Rookie Championships). Official Show Jumping USA Rookie status, and Championship qualifying, will begin upon a membership application for each rider and horse combination being received by Show Jumping USA's main office.

The registered Not-For-Profit association will help to further develop show jumping programs in the USA by providing educational opportunities, grants and funding for all ages and levels of riders, coaches, officials, shows, clinics and businesses involved in the hunter and jumper industry who wish to improve their skills and development.
With annual funding provided from a number of charitable organizations, individuals, along with annual membership dues and endowments, SJUSA will distribute grants, scholarships and funding throughout the year to its members through a variety of riding grants, learning scholarships, mentor partnerships and funding opportunities.

Show Jumping USA is the result of extensive collaboration between Canada CEO John Anderson and USA CSO Executive Director Kathy Hobstetter and hunter-jumper enthusiasts in both countries with the sole purpose of improving aspects and availability of show jumping in North America.
The Sister designation for these two groups will help to further support and develop show jumping horsemen by providing education and funding available for all ages and levels of riders, coaches and officials involved in the North American hunter and jumper industry.
With annual funding provided from a number of charitable organizations, including the USA Legacy Fund, strategic individuals, along with annual membership dues and levies, Show Jumping USA will distribute grants, financial assistance and educational opportunities through a variety of avenues.
